How might we craft captivating learning experiences for our students?
Our Discovery
Teachers sometime struggle to inspire perspectives and concern among students when engaging in discourse that feels disconnected from students' everyday experience. Students may not relate to content that they read in their textbooks and end up feeling bored and disengaged.

Our Innovation
Choose-your-own-adventure Immersive Learning Toolkit (CYOA-ILT) is a lesson design toolkit. It provides you with scaffolds for crafting stories that immerse students in first-person narratives.
Through these narratives, students are able to make active decisions related to real-world issues. Depending on these decisions, students will experience the consequences of their choice through different outcomes.
We hope this will inspire curiosity and develop students’ ability to appreciate multiple perspectives towards complex, multifaceted issues.
Immersive Learning Toolkit
Text-based Sample
Similar to old-school books where readers flip to a page number when making a decision for the character in a story, these text-based samples mimic the same experience in a digital way without the need to flip through a physical book.

Image-based Sample
Similar to the text-based sample, the image-based sample enhances the experience with pictorial tools to aid the imagination of the user to provide an immersive experience to the story.
Figma Sample
Video-based sample
In a video-based sample, users can sit back and enjoy the narrative while watching the drama unfold. While this format would be the most labour-intensive, the immersion is unrivalled especially when put into a VR setting.

CYOA-ILT Experience at MOE HQ
Teacher participants learnt about CYOA design principles, interacted with our samples, and ended the day creating their own CYOA activity! Check out the pictures from the event:
Boon Lay Secondary School's CYOA Open House Experience
Ms. Rita Thia, one of the participants of the CYOA-ILT Experience, shared the CYOA-ILT design principles with her colleagues and co-created a CYOA website for prospective students to experience and choose the multiple pathways that would lead them to achieve the school's vision.
