How might we harness EdTech to help enhance students’ development of Emerging 21st Century Competencies?

Our Discovery
Secondary school students need a better way to work on their areas of doubt during self-study, and notice connections between what they learn in school and how it will help them in the future.
Secondary school teachers want to support students' independence in self-monitoring and assessment in learning, and help students see the value of going beyond academic results to develop future-ready skills.
In addition, MOE has identified 21st Century Competencies that are essential for our students to develop to prepare them for the future.
-----------------
Our Innovation
21CC Navigator is a set of resources for schools to develop students' Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC) through SLS and consists of 3 parts.

We have SLS learning packages to raise students' awareness of the E21CC and a toolkit to develop Critical, Adaptive and Inventive Thinking (CAIT) through SLS. You can also search for SLS Modules with E21CC tags to develop E21CC through subject content.
------------------
Our Impact
Students reported a greater awareness of E21CC and were motivated to learn more about E21CC and hone their future-ready skills.
Students shared that the use of 21CC Navigator enabled organic social interaction and support between teacher-student, student-student, and student-family.
"When I was informed about E21CC through 21CC Navigator, I was able to identify that E21CC were actually taught by my teachers, just that they never told us about it, including during CCA." - Secondary 1 Student
"Attempting the (E21CC) Future Self Quiz helped me in understanding myself better cause it helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses." - Secondary 2 Student
